Dr Sir Muhammad Iqbal
(1877 –1938) was an Indian poet philosopher.
His poetry in Urdu and Persian is considered
to be among the most thought provoking of
the modern era. It has been translated and
published in dozens of languages all over
the world. He is fondly known as Allama
Iqbal (Allama means highly learned). His
famous poem ‘Saarey jahaan se achha
Hindostaan hammara’ has been adopted as the
National Song of India.
